Children and other Animals

Although we love them all, we reserve the right to eject noisy examples of both the four legged and two legged kind. We remember fondly when a pub was no place for children and ask therefore that if good table manners cannot be guaranteed they are left at home with Nanny or encouraged to visit the village playground.

Our philosophy is based upon the assumption that most adults come to the pub for some freedom from the delightful demands of children and even if this is not true of every parent, the chances are that it is true of the people on the next table.

Dogs, however, are another matter entirely and almost always wait in patient silence during the enjoyment of a meal.

. . . . . and while on the subject of unpleasant breaches of the peace, may we ask you to switch off your mobile phones.
